  • This category celebrates the contribution of MS specialist nurses to the quality and experience of care for people affected by MS. It is open to any MS specialist nurse in the UK. The category recognises person-centred practice, clinical excellence, leadership and commitment to the values of nursing.

  • This category celebrates the contribution of MS physiotherapists to the quality and experience of care for people affected by MS. It is open to any physiotherapist in the UK who works with people affected by MS as part of their regular caseload. The category recognises person-centred practice, clinical excellence, leadership and a commitment to multidisciplinary working.

  • This category celebrates the contribution of MS occupational therapists to the quality and experience of care for people affected by MS. It is open to any occupational therapist in the UK who works with people affected by MS as part of their regular caseload. The category recognises person-centred practice, clinical excellence, leadership and a commitment to multidisciplinary working.

  • For any primary care physician, specialist registrar or consultant neurologist. The category recognises commitment to developing and improving MS services, clinical excellence, promoting multidisciplinary working and active engagement in evidence-based practice.

  • This category highlights the growing role of pharmacists in supporting people affected by MS in making best use of prescribed medicines. The category recognises imaginative models involving pharmacists in prescribing, dispensing and monitoring drug treatments for MS as well as the role of pharmacists in improving the experience of care.

  • This category celebrates multidisciplinary teams who work collaboratively to provide innovative, high quality and person-centred care. Teams must include at least two different healthcare professionals working together to deliver all or part of an MS service. The category recognises the use of skills, knowledge and expertise within a multidisciplinary team to deliver comprehensive, coordinated and easily accessible services to people affected by MS.

  • This category celebrates innovative approaches to expert provision of MS services outside of the hospital setting. The category recognises commitment to bringing MS expertise nearer to where people with MS live and collaborative approaches to make safe, high-quality care more convenient.

  • This category celebrates innovative approaches to expert provision of MS services through either digital or online initiatives. The category recognises commitment to using technology to overcome obstacles and meet the information, support and engagement needs of people living with MS.

Judges’ special achievement 

The judges will also recognise two special teams/individuals which will be judged from all entries received (irrespective of category) for an individual, team or service that they feel deserves national recognition within the field of MS. This recognition may be given to an individual, team or service that has not won in its own category but in the judges’ opinion is worthy of being recognised as demonstrating innovation and excellence in MS service management and delivery, as well as enhancing the quality of life of those with MS.
