QuDoS recognition evening – video released

Innovation and excellence, empathy and compassion were all on display at this year’s Quality in the Delivery of Services (QuDoS) in MS recognition ceremony.

Healthcare professionals came together to celebrate the impact hard-working specialist teams have on people living with MS every day.

The ceremony, which was held at the Jury’s Inn Hotel in Hinckley Island on the eve of the MS Trust’s annual conference, was just one part of the QuDoS in MS programme.

Launched in 2016, the programme is designed to showcase the wealth of innovation and excellence on display in MS management and service delivery.

For the last six months, MS health professionals and past QuDoS nominees have been sharing their examples of best practice through the QuDoS website and resource hub.

This is set to continue as the QuDoS team work with the 2019 winners and also those that received commendations to develop and share case studies, in a bid to ensure teams up and down the country can replicate their work.

Paul Tunnah, CEO, pharmaphorum, said: “This year’s QuDoS is a great reflection of the talent and dedication of healthcare professionals working to improve the lives and outcomes of people with MS in the UK today.

“The competition was fierce, and we were so proud to be able to celebrate the winners during the recognition evening in November.”

David Martin, CEO, MS Trust, and judging panel member, said: “My fellow judges and I were very pleased to have received such a wide range of entries for this year’s programme. They clearly show the hard work and innovative thinking of so many teams and individuals working to support people with MS and improve the quality of their patients’ lives.

“Congratulations to all the finalists. All shortlisted entries were selected because they are making an exceptional contribution to the quality of life and experience of care for those with MS. Their work has been recognised as outstanding by clinicians, health professionals, and those representing people with MS, through a rigorous judging process. They should all feel very proud.”

Professor Dawn Langdon, Chair of Judges, Professor of Neuropsychology, Royal Holloway University of London, said: “I was so impressed by the quality of the MS healthcare described in the entries. The extraordinary commitment and energy of MS health professionals is providing services that are creative, well designed and tailored to the needs of people with MS.”
